SOLO PROJECT | Jan - May 2023 | Adobe Aero, Illustrator
Ecopark was my senior thesis and exhibition project showing off the power of incorporating new technology into educational environments. Ecopark is an augmented reality experience allowing users to learn and interact with a variety of animals around the world in a mission to promote conservation and and bring awareness to endangered wildlife. The project involved utilizing Adobe Aero, Illustrator, 3D assets by @polyperfect and an understanding of designing within a three-dimensional space.
Objective
Eco Park is an augmented reality experience developed as part of my Senior Thesis and Exhibition class. It contains a variety of exotic animals from around the world with ways to interact and learn more about them in order to promote conservation and sustainable practices.
Result
Eco Park contains 9 different modules with 3 land animals, 3 aerial animals, and 3 aquatic animals. The addition of sound and animations create an immersive and fun experience to keep the user engaged in the experience and wanting to learn more. Eco Park is an example of how new mediums can be used for education.
ECO CARDS
Eco Cards were developed as a way for users to easily access the Augmented content. Once scanned, A pop up for Adobe Aero appears and seamlessly allows you to use the AR content without download any extra app. The information on the card gives you a way to physically learn information while the AR experience creates an engaging experience with immersive sound and 3D models.
Try it for yourself!
Just scan the QR code with your phone and follow the prompts to access the AR experience
INTERACTION
The Augmented content has multiple ways to interact and educate users.
The Info icon brings up the Eco Card which shows key facts such as population, lifespan, and more.
The Leaf icon brings up facts about the animals wildlife status and threats it faces in its natural habitat.
The Magnifying Glass allows users to dive deeper into the unique features of each animal
AR EXPERIENCE
Additional interactions include the move button, which plays a short animation. The sound button which plays a recording of what each animal sounds like. And the scale button which displays the animal at the size it would be in real life.
EXHIBITION
Eco Park was exhibited in the 2023 Neighborhood Graphic Design Showcase in Rapson Hall. The layout presented an easy and engaging way to interact with the content and learn more about conservation and our wildlife
